Daily life is one of the familiar yet complex concepts. Many thinkers in the fields of micro and macro sociology have realized the importance of everyday life and paid attention to it in their social studies. Henri Lefebvre, a thinker of the critical school, believes that by examining the daily life of a society, the power relations in that society can be identified. With a critical view, he pays attention to macro and micro sociology in everyday life. This article aims to study the daily life represented in the first Pahlavi dramatic texts to identify the most significant themes in the plays of the first Pahlavi period and to reveal their relationship with government policies. For this purpose, four works, “Jafar Khan from Farang”, “Haq Ba Kist”, “Golnar and Nowruz’, and “A Hossein Agha’s Wedding”, have been selected for analysis. This research is critical and interpretive and was conducted using the library study method. This research indicates that the emergence of Reza Shah’s government transformed society into a nation-state, with modernization prioritized on the government’s reform agenda. The results show that the government produced entertainment products within art and theater. Also, during the Pahlavi period, the theater found an ideological function supporting the government’s objectives and became devoid of critical themes. Also, the contrast between tradition and modernity in everyday life is more evident in statements related to women, such as divorce and marriage.
